Accenture's Chicago Office Goes Online With Hoteling

Chicago office of Accenture implements EMS Hoteling to manage mobile workforce, multiple sites and workspaces

DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates' (www.dea.com) EMS Hoteling software has been implemented at Accenture's largest metro office in Chicago, Ill. An extension of the EMS family of event management and scheduling software, EMS Hoteling was developed to help companies reduce costs and track mobile employees. It efficiently schedules people, space and resources in a complex corporate environment.

"Accenture has more than 70,000 employees and approximately 70% of them are part of the mobile workforce," said Shawn Rabin, Americas Deployment Team Manager for Accenture. "We can use less space to accommodate the same number of employees, reducing real estate costs."

EMS Hoteling is a combination of DEA's client-server application EMS Enterprise, its Web-based application Virtual EMS Enterprise and specialized Kiosk software. It allows companies to "office" more people in less space, increasing utilization and providing mobile employees with all the comforts and technology of a permanent workspace.

EMS Hoteling works by allowing employees to make a "reservation" for temporary workspace. Accenture employees anywhere in the world can now request space in the Chicago metro offices. Bookings are done by phone, via an internal electronic form, and soon through the Internet. Reservations can be made for workspace meeting rooms, conference rooms, catering, audio visual equipment and storage.

"Our software makes hoteling easy and reliable for Accenture's mobile workforce. Employees can make reservations via the network, check-in at a kiosk when they arrive at work and have everything set and ready to go for the day."
