Three More Schools Manage Campus Calendars With EMS Software
Dean Evans & Assoc. EMS software saves time, cuts cost in campus-wide room scheduling
and event management
DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com)
has announced the addition of three new clients to its EMS series event management
software roster of top educational users. The software developer’s newest customers
are Portland State University, San Bernardino County Superintendent’s Office and
The University of Maryland.
Facing the event scheduling demands inherent with hundreds of facilities, classrooms
and extra-curricular organizations, Dean Evans & Associates’ new customers have
employed server-based EMS Enterprise or networked EMS Professional software to streamline
their complex campus scheduling process.
“Our educational customers tell us that classroom scheduling software alone can’t
handle their complex event management needs,” said Kevin Raasch, executive vice
president of Dean Evans & Associates. “They demand versatility and a fast, easy
installation. The fact is, no other scheduling software fits as well within university
requirements – which is exactly why we continue to install more software in this
market than anyone else.”
“We looked at a lot of scheduling software,” said Alan Brown, facilities manager
responsible for scheduling over 200 campus organizations at Portland State University.
“EMS Enterprise is extremely flexible and its database is built on a very solid
platform – Microsoft SQL Server™ – so it’s fast and fully accessible from any location.”
The University of Maryland has more than 300 registered student organizations and
600 College Park, Md., community programs. The San Bernardino County Superintendent’s
Office serves the California Department of Education and 38 individual school districts
in San Bernardino, Calif. Both have similar stories about life after EMS.
Dean Evans & Associates’ EMS series of event management scheduling software
is now used in more than 500 colleges, universities, school districts and educational
institutions in the U.S. and around the world. DEA customers include many of the
nation’s largest and most prestigious institutions, such as MIT, Columbia, Harvard,
Georgetown, University of Illinois and many more. EMS has many features distinguishing
them from other event management software, including:
- Inventory Control – EMS software advises users of the availability of audio/video
equipment, lighting, tables, chairs, etc. and sends a warning when equipment is
subject to over-booking. As a result, over-booking is virtually eliminated.
- View Calendar and Search for Available Space – An advanced Web viewer allows
users to see the current facilities bookings across the entire inventory and automatically
matches available space against date and venue requirements.
- Search for Specific Events and Request Space – A powerful Web interface allows
users to search for scheduled events by name. The interface also facilitates online
space reservation requests.
- Print Confirmations – Scheduled resources such as catering, equipment, furniture,
etc. are confirmed in a printed statement for the user. Resource categories can
be user-defined against the unique requirements and in the unique vernacular of
the institution.
Early in 2002 the company will introduce EMS Enterprise 2.0. Designed for the convenience
of space rental customers (end users), the upgrade will feature enhanced Web-based
functionality and a full spectrum of interactive order processing capabilities.
