EMS Enterprise Schedules Events in Nation's Fastest-Growing County

Dean Evans & Associates software helps schedule Douglas County Events Center

DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com) announces the successful implementation of its EMS Enterprise resource scheduling and calendaring software at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock, Colo. The 49,390 square foot facility, which opened August 4, 2001, uses the software to efficiently schedule and manage events. The Web-enabled software checks space availability and books events and event-related resources. Users can view existing facility bookings and the software automatically matches available space against date and venue requirements.

Jonna Negus, manager of the Events Center, said, “Even with rapid growth in our county, there is still a sense of community. Facilities like the Events Center make that possible. And Dean Evans & Associates’ software schedules all our events, so in a way, they’re a part of this growing community.”

Negus assisted in the selection process for EMS Enterprise and says it was chosen because it eliminates double-bookings, manages all the details of inventory control, and handles billing and accounts receivable functions for all meeting-related services. Negus expects numerous events to occur in the center in the coming months, including banquets for up to 1,300 and concerts for up to 3,400. The Events Center will also host conventions, trade shows and seminars.

Negus counts on EMS Enterprise to keep event details from slipping through the cracks, “The software handles scheduling logistics, freeing me to make sure that people using the facility are getting the most out of the event.”

In addition to the Events Center, The Douglas County Parks and Trails Division will use the software to organize events held at ball/multi-purpose fields, playgrounds and picnic shelters.

Dean Evans & Associates EMS scheduling software continues to increase its presence in government-run facilities. Recent placements include the Boise Centre on the Grove, the Muncie, Ind., Community Civic Center, the General Services Administration in Cleveland, Ohio and the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department in Santa Rosa, Calif.

About Douglas County

Virtually in the geographic center of Colorado, Douglas County has been the nation’s fastest growing county since 1990. With a population of more than 207,000, it is ranked highest nationally for median household income at $82,929, and about 97% of the county’s adult residents hold a high school diploma, the highest percentage in the nation. The county's strength, as the centerpiece of the Denver/Colorado Springs Development Corridor, comes from a perfect blend of quality lifestyle and business environment.

The county is approximately 844 square miles of striking natural beauty in its mountains, foothills and plains. Elevations range from 5,400 feet in the northeast, to 9,836 feet at Thunder Butte in the Pike National Forest. To preserve the area's natural environment, 70% of the corridor will retain agricultural, ranching, parks, and open space uses. Recreational facilities include over 146,000 acres of Pike National Forest, two state parks, a state recreation area, and numerous county, municipal, and local parks, trails, and open spaces. The pioneer spirit and eternal beauty of the mountains, foothills and plains remain in Douglas County. More information is available at www.douglas.co.us.
