Tech Electronics Ships Latest "EMS Plug-In for AxisTV" as Part of 5.0

New release highlights successful Dean Evans/Tech Electronics relationship

DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com) today joined Tech Electronics, Inc. (www.techelec.com) in announcing the release of version 5.0 of TEi’s AxisTV product. AxisTV is a sophisticated, network-based visual messaging system that is used to create text bulletins for display on video monitors. Facilities use it to broadcast important information to their guests. The EMS Plug-In for AxisTV is an optional module that reads data directly from an EMS database, allowing for the real-time display of a facility’s list of events.

“We’re excited about the new functionality in version 5.0,” says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of Dean Evans & Associates. “Each new upgrade to AxisTV or EMS strengthens what has already been a very successful strategic alliance between our companies. I think it’s been a great benefit to both organizations that TEi took the initiative to write the EMS Plug-In interface.”

According to Trey Hicks, marketing and sales director for TEi, the version number of this release was set at 5.0 to emphasize the amount of new functionality that has been added. “We jumped from 3.2 to 5.0 to really make a point: This is not just an upgrade, but a whole new AxisTV system – redesigned from the ground up.” More than a dozen significant enhancements – from an increase in resolution options to a more powerful Web browser interface – have been made to the product.

Several substantial improvements have been made to the EMS Plug-In for AxisTV as well, including:

  • Support for multiple event schedule bulletins per channel, each with unique display parameters
  • Ability to adjust the frequency with which the Plug-In checks for changes in event information
  • Automatic text wrapping of long event descriptions
  • Ability to adjust the length of time for which each event schedule bulletin is displayed
  • Support for the use of MP3 or WAV audio clips with event schedule bulletins

“We’ve added a tremendous amount of content creation and visual display power to the AxisTV product line while keeping the system extremely easy to use,” says Hicks. “And that’s the big news – we’ve increased usability while adding functionality.”
