Dean Evans & Associates Releases EMS Sales Numbers for 2003 – Looks Ahead to
2004
Figures show strong performance, increasing number of customers switching from other
scheduling software
DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com)
today released information on unit sales for its EMS (Event Management Systems)
product line for 2003. The company sold 325 copies of its EMS Lite, EMS Professional
and EMS Enterprise products to bring its client base up to nearly 2,500 installations
in the U.S. and abroad. “We’re pleased with our sales numbers for 2003 – especially
given the state of the economy,” says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of
Dean Evans & Associates. “Organizations with shrinking budgets are still finding
a way to purchase facility scheduling software. We think that fact underscores the
importance of this type of software and our ability to deliver products that have
a positive effect on a company’s bottom line.”
Even as it moves ahead with its 2004 sales effort, the company continues to analyze
the 2003 figures to identify buying patterns and tendencies. One noticeable trend
is that the percentage of new customers switching from another online scheduling
system to EMS Professional or EMS Enterprise is on the rise. Those conversions are
up from just over 25% two years ago to close to 40% in 2003.
“It’s great to see that we compare favorably to other scheduling systems,” says
Greg Neel, regional account manager for the company’s Northeastern U.S. sales territory,
“especially with organizations that have already invested a significant amount of
time and money in those other systems.” Karen Noh, division manager at the UCLA
Student Union agrees. “EMS is a huge improvement over our old system,” she says.
“Its easy to use yet sophisticated enough to handle complicated events.”
Another positive development in 2003 was the company’s unintended entry into some
new markets. “We were pleasantly surprised by the number of systems we sold last
year to customers who are in markets that we don’t actively pursue,” says Raasch.
“We’re very fortunate to receive a great deal of ‘word of mouth’ advertising from
our existing customers. It has opened many doors for us.”
