2004 EMS Users' Conference Sets Attendance Record
Educational Sessions, Networking and Product Development Panels Highlight Three-Day
Event

recently completed “Gold Medal Scheduling” Users’ Conference had the highest number
of attendees ever, with more than 200 customers traveling to Denver from all over
the U.S. and a number of foreign countries. The three-day event at a downtown hotel
included educational sessions, demonstrations of the latest EMS upgrades and the
company’s soon-to-be-released Master Calendar system, and product development panels
with the company’s programming staff.
“We’re pleased to see the attendance at the Users’ Conference growing each year,”
said Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of Dean Evans & Associates. “We
really feel that the conference is a win-win situation for the attendees and our
company. Our customers get some excellent product information and an opportunity
to network with their peers in the scheduling community, and we get the chance to
solicit insightful feedback from the people who use EMS in the real world every
day.”
That feedback was largely responsible for the company’s release of an upgrade to
their EMS Enterprise product just three weeks after the conference. “Nobody knows
better what our customer’s need from their event management system than our customers
themselves,” says Raasch. “When we can take their input and use it to make EMS a
more powerful, more user-friendly product in a very reasonable amount of time, we
think that strengthens the positive partnership we’ve had with our users over the
years.”
Among the enhancement suggestions that were incorporated in the latest EMS release
were a number of report modifications, several online data display improvements
and changes to a few key data entry fields and processes. “The technical support,
sales, and management teams at Dean Evans & Associates are all receptive to
customer feedback,” says Krisztina Ujvagi-Roder, Manager of Event Services at the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. “And we
are thrilled to see enhancements incorporated into the newest version that we consider
essential to our operation.”
