New Event Management Software Versions Based Solely on Customer Input
Dean Evans & Associates lets user feedback guide development of new releases of facility
and resource scheduling systems
DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com)
today announced the release of major new versions of all three of its EMS (Event
Management System) facility and resource scheduling systems. EMS Lite (Version 6.0),
EMS Professional (Version 10.0) and EMS Enterprise (Version 4.0) are used by corporations,
higher education campuses, hospitals, churches, school districts and other organizations
to manage the scheduling of rooms, resources and services. EMS Enterprise has additional
functionality designed for the management of shared office space, a concept often
referred to as “hoteling.” The add-on Virtual EMS component of each system allows
authorized users to submit room requests or make reservations directly from the
Internet, and also enables the publishing of event-related information to the web.
“Our business and needs have changed greatly over the years, and we have relied
on the EMS team to work with us on enhancements, support and even the occasional
quick fix to help us with our seemingly ever-changing requirements,” says David
Kornfeld, assistant vice president, JPMorgan Chase. “EMS is always willing to listen
to customer feedback, and has included many of our suggestions in upgrades. We look
forward to growing our use of the software – up from 1200 bookings per month to
35,000 per month last year alone – with EMS as a partner.”
Among the areas of focus in the new EMS releases are tighter integration with Windows®
applications, more process automation, greater flexibility in mirroring an organization’s
business rules and enhanced internal communication of event changes. In particular,
the ability to browse for email addresses in a Global Address List, system-generated
reminder emails for reservation holders, new security settings for users, and more
comprehensive staff notification functionality were applauded by customers and prospects
in pre-release demonstrations.
“In our 20 years of writing software for the event management industry, we’ve never
put out a release that more heavily relied upon, and responded to, customer feedback,”
says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of Dean Evans & Associates. “Every new
feature and every enhancement on our development list resulted from user input.
And the initial reaction from users of the new releases has been very positive.”
