Latest Releases of EMS Room and Resource Scheduling Software Earn “Certified for Windows
Vista” Logo
Lotus Domino integration among other product enhancements
DENVER -- Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com) today
announced the release of new versions of their Event Management System (EMS) room and resource
scheduling products, which are used by corporations, higher education campuses, hospitals,
churches, school districts and other organizations to book rooms, resources and services for
meetings and events. EMS software is also used to perform academic course scheduling and
shared workspace management (sometimes referred to as “hoteling”).
A number of technical enhancements have been made to EMS Campus (Version 1.1), EMS
Enterprise (Version 4.1), EMS Professional (Version 10.1) and EMS Lite (Version 6.1),
including that they are now:
- Certified for Windows Vista
- Compatible with Windows Office 2007
- Built on the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
- Compatible with IBM Lotus Notes email (basic email compatibility for all
products, as well as Lotus Domino integration for EMS Enterprise)
The Windows Vista certification process was especially challenging. “We’re very happy
with the results of the testing,” says Sean Nelson, lead developer on the company’s
scheduling products. “The whole testing procedure was very eye-opening for us. This was
no ‘rubber stamp’ process. We had to work through dozens of complex test cases to ensure
that the software met Microsoft’s strict standards.”
As of a recent counting, the EMS offerings were four of just 206 products that are officially
certified for the Windows Vista operating system.
“Microsoft is pleased that Dean Evans & Associates has earned the Certified for Windows
Vista software logo for their EMS applications,” says Brad Goldberg, General Manager for
Windows Vista Product Management at Microsoft Corp. “By certifying their applications,
DEA is letting their customers know that their products have met explicit standards of
reliability and quality, and have been tested and proven to deliver a superior experience
with a PC running Windows Vista.”
