Dean Evans & Associates Announces Development Plans for Next Release of
EMS Campus Academic Scheduling System
Company inks multiple EMS Campus deals in recent weeks
DENVER –- Dean Evans & Associates, Inc. (www.dea.com)
today released information on the enhancements that are underway to their EMS Campus™
"complete campus scheduling" product. Higher education entities use EMS Campus to
manage academic scheduling, meeting and event planning, and web calendaring all in one system.
The academic scheduling portion of the system contains functions for pulling course schedule
information from a Student Information System (SIS), running multiple space optimization scenarios,
automatically creating bookings for the courses within EMS and posting room assignments back to
the SIS.
EMS Campus Version 2.0, which will be released in the second half of 2008, will include
a number of significant enhancements including:
- Streamlined academic planning process
- Final Exam scheduling
- More utilization reports
- Enhanced space optimization algorithm
- Additional fields for course-related information
- Ability to schedule overlapping terms
"We’ve seen sales of EMS Campus begin to accelerate as a growing number of higher
education institutions are realizing that a centralized and truly comprehensive source of
classroom, meeting room and resource scheduling information can dramatically increase
efficiency and lower operating costs," says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of
Dean Evans & Associates. "And for those who have known that for some time, learning
about sites that are now successfully using EMS Campus seems to be the last little push they
need to take action."
A number of higher education entities have purchased EMS Campus in recent weeks, including
Lewis & Clark College, University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Patrick Henry College and
Gateway Technical College.
