Typically, EMS Campus receives many new features in a major update every 12-24 months with continuous improvements and enhancements on an as-needed basis. Below are the highlights from the latest release of EMS Campus, Version 3.0.
Existing customers can see a comprehensive list of new features by accessing the Online Support Center and clicking on 'User Manuals'.
What's New in EMS Campus 3.0
- Auto-synchronization - Stay in synch! Course updates for published terms can now be automatically processed and viewed in the Dashboard.
- Multiple room preferences - Instructors can now indicate not one but three top room preferences. Along with this, a new Set Specific Room Preferences academic security process has been added.
- More granular academic scheduling security - A number of enhancements have been made to academic scheduling security. These include a new security process for enabling/disabling a user’s ability to edit course information, a new parameter to enable/disable the option to synchronize academic units, and more.
- Continuing enhancements to optimization - The academic scheduling optimization process now offers features like room “swapping,” the locking of room/course pairings assigned in optimization and simplified conflict resolution.
- Even greater web accessibility! - Previously available as a special module with basic functionality, the web version of the EMS Client has arrived! Use EMS from the web with the "desktop" features and functions you rely on: Reservation Wizard, Reservation Book, Browser, Navigator, reports and more!
- Divided charge allocation - Charges for bookings and service orders can now be allocated across multiple internal cost centers.
- Social networking enhancements to Virtual EMS - AddThis options are now available on the Event Details page, allowing users to quickly and easily bookmark and share content to various social networking sites.
- Service Order Management browser - This function builds on the service order management tools introduced in the last release of EMS (service order phases, review/unreviewed, etc.). It provides automatic refresh capability in addition to the option of highlighting changes made within a defined number of hours.
- Interactive customer email notifications - Customer email notifications have been enhanced to provide the end user with convenient booking management options including the ability to cancel the booking using a link provided. Users can also reconfirm their event.
- "A whole new level" of Plan-a-Meeting and EMS for Outlook® functionality - That’s the phrase our Development team uses in describing what’s new in these modules! Reciprocal editing between them, favorite rooms list and feature/capacity filtering are just a few of the new capabilities.
- Terms & Conditions option - Ensure that you and the reservation holder are on the same page! An option is now available in Virtual EMS to include Terms & Conditions on the Room Request checkout window.
- Additional catering functionality through Virtual EMS - New catering functions are available through Virtual EMS, including a warning if the number of servings of a catering resource exceeds the setup count and enforcement of a minimum resource quantity.
- Floor Plan Module and unavailable rooms - When viewing a floor plan, users will now see an option to display unavailable spaces, along with the booking information, making it easier to find a colleague and reserve space near them.
- Benchmark Metrics report - The new Benchmark Metrics report automatically gathers a wide variety of data that can be used in completing the Facilities and Services Benchmark Survey or can simply be printed and reviewed by staff and management. Numbers of rooms, reservations, bookings, and service orders are just a few of the items reported on.
