Virtual EMS (Web Requests/Reservations, Facility Information)
Leverage the power of the internet with this module for EMS Professional. Virtual
EMS provides fully interactive, real-time access to scheduling information via the
internet or your organization's intranet. Website visitors can browse your building schedule
or search for specific events from any computer with an internet browser. Authorized
users (employees in your organization, meeting organizers, facility staff, customers, etc.)
can, depending on the level of access granted, submit room requests or create self-service
reservations directly from the web through a secure, user-friendly interface.
The best way to learn more about this product is to test drive it yourself
using our live demonstration (please call
800-440-3994 x863 today for a personalized demonstration, and to see additional
features that aren't available in the demo version).
Advanced Options Module
(
Datasheet)
Designed for situations where a greater delineation between groups within an organization is necessary,
the Advanced Options Module provides more granular user access settings, the ability to run reports based on
user-defined room "views" and the option to define multiple departments.
Microsoft® Exchange Integration
(
Datasheet)
Virtual EMS can be integrated with Microsoft Exchange to streamline the process
of arranging meetings. With this optional module, meeting coordinators can view
the availability of both attendees and meeting rooms, send Microsoft Outlook®-compatible
meeting invitations, and order any necessary A/V equipment or food services -- all
from a single, intuitive interface.
Integrated Authentication
(
Datasheet)
This optional module establishes the tightest integration possible between the web
version of the EMS client or Virtual
EMS and your network or web portal. Integrated authentication works with Microsoft
Active Directory or your custom web portal to streamline account maintenance for
administrators and enable single sign-on for web users.
Academic Import Utility
(
Datasheet)
If you're looking for a way to manage meeting and event scheduling campus-wide, including
the ability to book academic space when it's not in use for classes, then EMS Professional
with its corresponding version of the Academic Import Utility may be just what you're
looking for.
Colleges and universities typically maintain their academic schedule and classroom
assignments in a Student Information System (SIS). Once a particular term is in session,
other campus entities are generally allowed to use academic space for meetings and events
as long as their use doesn't conflict with the class schedule. EMS's Academic Import
Utility is a plug-in module for EMS Professional that imports the academic schedule from
your SIS, allowing you to book space around classes, while never conflicting with them.
If you're looking for an even more sophisticated solution that offers a bi-directional
interface with your SIS, helps facilitate the creation and maintenance of your academic
schedule and automates the assignment and optimized use of classroom space, then please
check out EMS Campus.
Video Display Interface
(
Datasheet)
Would you like to automatically display your EMS schedule of events on digital signage
throughout your facility? By adding the Video Display Interface (VDI) to your EMS system,
and using it to interface with one of many popular digital signage systems on the market today
(refer to our Digital Signage Partners),
you can do just that. There is even an option to export scheduling data formatted for use
with Microsoft PowerPoint®. Although we do not sell digital signage hardware, we would be
happy to discuss your needs and point you in the right direction.
As an alternative to relying on the VDI module, some of our digital signage partners have
designed their systems to connect directly to your EMS database in order to read and display
the schedule of events in near real-time. Please contact the following partners for complete
details:
API (Application Programming Interface)
(
Datasheet)
Software and web application developers can use this tool to write programs that interact with an EMS
database. The standard API is free to customers and available to their vendors and anyone looking to
integrate with EMS; an advanced API is licensed and purchased separately.
EMS Language Translation Module
(
Datasheet)
The world is getting smaller every day. Be sure that your organization can take part in the global
conversation! The EMS Language Translation Module enables language localization for the web version of
the EMS client, Virtual EMS or EMS Kiosk through our library of "language packs" or using one that
we compile for you with terms you supply.
RoomWizard Interface
EMS Professional can be integrated with Steelcase RoomWizard™ devices, which are digital
room signs that can allow walk-up booking of space. With this integration, users have the option
of reserving rooms in advance through EMS or booking on-the-spot from RoomWizard's touch-screen
at the conference room. RoomWizard shows the room's current schedule and provides a convenient
red/green light to indicate whether the room is occupied or available. By integrating these
technologies, you can eliminate scheduling conflicts, optimize room usage, and track
impromptu use of space.
Professional Services
The implementation and maintenance of a software package is a series of steps. While completing those steps on your own is
certainly an option, there are many advantages to having our Professional Services team assist you with some or all of them.
From needs assessment to system configuration to end user training to upgrade planning, our highly-trained consultants draw on
detailed product knowledge and experience with other customers as they work with you to determine how your organization can
get the most out of EMS.
